The Role We are seeking an Assistant Teacher to join our classroom team, starting with our 7-week summer program (8:15 AM-5:15 PM), continuing into the school year. Who You Are You are a caring, energetic, and enthusiastic educator who: Loves spending time with young children and delights in their curiosity Is a collaborative team player who takes initiative and adapts quickly Brings warmth and patience to every part of the day — from playtime to transitions Communicates respectfully and professionally with families and colleagues Is eager to grow as an early childhood educator What You'll Do Support the lead teacher in implementing engaging, play-based activities and daily routines Actively play and interact with children to support their social, emotional, and developmental growth Assist children with self-help skills including feeding, toileting, diapering, and dressing Help prepare and organize classroom materials and learning spaces Supervise children to ensure their safety and wellbeing at all times Model and encourage developmentally appropriate social behaviors and expectations Assist with light classroom housekeeping to maintain a healthy, welcoming environment Work with individual children to support their unique needs Qualifications Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education or a related field — or currently enrolled in an accredited ECE program (a plus) Experience caring for or working with young children, including supporting self-help skills Warm, responsible, and dedicated — a true team player who thrives in a collaborative environment Professional and courteous with both families and colleagues Self-starter with a positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn Comfortable with basic technology Medical clearance required DOI and DOE fingerprinting a plus Why Purple Crayon?
