Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Daycare Teacher to join our team. This position is responsible for providing care to children in various classrooms, primarily working with children between ages 1 and 5. All staff are required to pass a state and federal child care background check, obtain a physical from a physician, and complete mandatory child care trainings annually. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and be able to provide a safe, nurturing environment for them to learn and grow. Responsibilities include supervising playtime, mealtime, and naptime, as well as helping children with their daily needs. The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, be patient and understanding, have flexibility, and be able to maintain a positive attitude in a variety of situations.
Responsibilities and Duties:
provide responsive, nurturing care that supports each child's physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development create and maintain a safe, clean, and healthy classroom environment follow safe sleep practices and all state licensing regulations feed, diaper, and assist with daily care routines while maintaining proper sanitation procedures observe, document, and communicate each child's developmental progress and daily activities with families plan and implement age-appropriate and developmentally-appropriate learning experiences that encourage exploration and development build positive, professional relationships with children, families, and coworkers supervise children at all times, ensuring their safety indoors, outdoors, and during transitions maintain accurate records, including daily reports, incident reports, and attendance participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities assist with the completion of developmental screenings and assessments
Essential Job Requirements:
authorized to work in the United States • be at least 16 years old possess a High School Diploma or GED, or be currently enrolled in an Early Childhood Vocational Program able to pass a state and federal child care background check completed physical and proof of immunizations lift and carry up to 35 pounds able to work in multiple positions, including standing, sitting on chairs and on the floor, squatting, stooping, bending, twisting, and kneeling effective multi-tasking maintain visual and auditory awareness of children at all times agility and ability to move quickly to respond to children's needs and emergencies decision-making skills must be able to work in an active classroom environment with frequent noise, movement, and interruptions typical of a group child care setting
Preferred Job Requirements and Skills:
knowledge of child growth and development previous experience caring for young children (birth-five) in a group care setting familiarity with state child care licensing regulations and developmentally appropriate practices ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in stressful situations strong verbal and written communication skills ability to work collaboratively as part of a team strong organizational and time management skills patience, compassion, and genuine interest in working with young children and their families ability to maintain confidentiality professionalism agility to push, pull, lift, and carry strong conversational skills comfort working in a busy, active, and noisy environment
