Preschool Lead Teacher (1-Year-Olds) Position Summary The Preschool Lead Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and Christ-centered environment for children in the 1-year-old classroom. The Lead Teacher plans and implements age-appropriate learning experiences that support children's social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and spiritual development while fostering positive relationships with families and staff. Key Responsibilities Curriculum & Classroom Management Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate activities & curriculum for One-year-old children. Support children's growth through positive guidance and age-appropriate classroom management techniques. Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom environment. Observe and document children's developmental progress, attendance, and incidents as required. Ensure compliance with Texas Minimum Standards and school policies. Family & Staff Collaboration Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's daily activities, progress, and needs. Supervise and support assistant teachers and classroom aides. Participate in staff meetings, training, school events, and parent conferences. Report concerns regarding children, staff, facilities, or safety to the Director. Health & Safety Maintain a clean, healthy, and safe classroom and playground environment. Follow all health, safety, and emergency procedures. Ensure proper supervision of children at all times and assist with daily care routines, including diapering, toileting, meals, and rest time as needed. Qualifications Meet all Texas licensing requirements for education and experience. Previous experience working with infants, toddlers, or preschool-aged children preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills. Ability to model Christian values and support the mission of Faith Lutheran School. Complete 24 hours of annual professional development training. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift and carry children, bend, stoop, sit on the floor, and actively participate in indoor and outdoor activities. Schedule Monday-Friday | 7:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
