POSITION TITLE

Substitute Teacher for Early childhood/Daycare\n

High School Diploma/ GED\n

REPORTS TO:

Campus Principal\n

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Substitute only for the school year, will sign a letter of assurance for next school year employment (not a contract)\n

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

\nMaintain a positive learning environment and respond to the individual needs of the students.\nImplement effective lessons in the absence of the regular Instructor.\nEnsure that district policies are observed during all activities.\nCreate a safe classroom environment that is conducive to learning.\nKeep all children in the classroom under supervision at all times. Be familiar with fire exits, fire drill procedures, severe storm and tornado warning procedures. Review notes for the day, take attendance and follow the lesson plans of the teacher.\nMaintain confidentiality as defined by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).\nDemonstrate the ability to adapt to circumstances. Exhibit good judgment and use appropriate language or behavior while on assignment.\nReport for duty 30 minutes early and remain on duty for the entire assignment, including planning time of the teacher.\n

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations.\nTake all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.\nMaintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.\nLeave detailed notes for teacher on any issues experienced during the day.\nOther duties as assigned by the Principal\n
