Job Description

About us Mountain Village School is an early childhood and after school program Stowe, VT. We aim to provide a beautiful and inspiring environment for children to learn and grow. We build strong relationships with children through play and social interactions. We offer early childhood education for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and kindergarteners. We also offer and enriching afterschool program. We spend a considerable amount of time outside each day in all types of weather. We aim to build curriculum for children that is both meaningful and inspired by children. We are looking for a teacher to join our school. The position is in a classroom with children 3 years old. Ideally the schedule would be full time at 40 hours per week, however we have the flexibility for a schedule of 32 hours if desired. Expectations Create supportive and responsive relationships with each child Show authentic interest in children and their development Plan and implement curriculum based on children's interests and inquires as well as seasonal changes and our environment Support children with social skills, emotion regulation, and interpersonal skills Use effective teaching strategies to engage children and promote active learning Manage behaviors and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment Collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop and implement curriculum Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding children's progress in a respectful and supportive manner Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills Ideal candidates will have: A love of the outdoors and a respect for nature Experience working with children ages 2-5 years old Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to connect with children and create a positive learning environment A willingness to learn new skills We offer competitive salary and benefits packages.
