Job Summary/Basic Functions The Department of Psychiatry of the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC) School of Medicine in New Orleans is a seeking candidate for an academic faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor (non-tenure, clinical track) to provide adult psychological services as a clinician and provide trauma-informed evaluation and psychotherapy services to survivors of violent crime and traumatic injury. The candidate will provide clinical supervision, consultation and training to staff and trainees on trauma-informed, evidence-based interventions. The candidate will also be involved in program development and research at the University Medical Center New Orleans (UMC) Level One Trauma Center. The position is housed in the UMC Trauma Recovery Center which is designed to help survivors of violent crime and traumatic injury overcome barriers to accessing mental health treatment, health care, and legal resources in the acute aftermath of trauma. The center works collaboratively across psychology, psychiatry, social work, trauma surgery, hospital-based and clinic-based violence intervention programs, and community partners.
