Job Description

Position Overview The Department of Psychology at Charleston Southern University invites applications for an Instructor orAssistant Professor of Psychology position beginning 1 January 2026. Charleston Southern University seeks candidates for faculty positionswho are professing Christians and who are committed to excellence in teaching and service. They should support the goals of a strong liberalarts education and be willing to explore with students the integration of faith and learning. Key Responsibilities Thesuccessful candidate will have the ability to teach the following courses: General Psychology, and relevant combinations of: Introduction toStatistics, Physiological Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Physiological Psychology and/or Forensic Psychology, and others as developed.

The course load is 12 hours per major semester of undergraduate courses. Involvement within the department, student advising, campus serviceand professional development are required. Teaching in the summer is available for additional pay; courses are taught both in person andonline. Qualifications Earned Ph. D. in Psychology is preferred but A.B.D. status or an M.S. from an accredited institutionwill be considered. The successful applicant will provide evidence of excellence in teaching and scholarly activity.
