Job Description

School Summary Oklahoma Connections Academy (OKCA) is a tuition-free, online public-school serving student in grades PreK-12 throughout Oklahoma. OKCA is authorized by the Oklahoma Virtual Charter School Board and governed by an independent Board of Directors. OKCA is accredited by the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement, an accrediting division of AdvancED. Position Summary and Responsibilities From our office in Bartlesville or from your home office in Oklahoma, the Part-Time Reading Teacher will provide assistance to K-5 students who are in need of intervention in reading. Important functions of the job include administering benchmark and diagnostic assessments, analyzing data, and working with individual students or small groups. This is a temporary, hourly position. The Part-Time Reading Teacher will be responsible for the successful completion of the following tasks: Administer reading benchmark and diagnostic reading assessments. Analyze data and collaborate with classroom teachers to assist in identifying students who are in need of reading intervention Create and maintain attendance records, discipline records, and communication logs Assign and monitor appropriate Supplemental Instructional Support Programs (SISPs) to students Other duties as assigned. Requirements Certified to teach in Oklahoma Strong technology skills (especially with Microsoft Office products and Google Suite) Excellent communication skills, both oral and written Highly organized and punctual Student and family focused approach High degree of flexibility Demonstrated ability to work well in fast paced environment Team player track record Strong interpersonal skills which include the ability to work effectively with students, parents, staff, and community members from diverse backgrounds.
