Summary We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Speech Language Teacher to join our team at Florence School District Three. The successful candidate will work with students who have communication disorders, providing specialized instruction and support to enhance their speech and language skills. This full-time position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on students' academic and social development in a collaborative educational environment. Responsibilities Assess and evaluate students' speech and language abilities to identify needs and develop individualized education plans (IEPs). Provide direct therapy services to students with speech and language disorders, using evidence-based practices. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to implement strategies that support students' communication needs in the classroom. Monitor and document student progress, adjusting intervention strategies as necessary. Conduct workshops and training sessions for teachers and staff on speech and language development and effective communication strategies. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and share insights on effective interventions. Maintain accurate records of student assessments, therapy sessions, and progress reports. Stay current with research and best practices in speech-language pathology and special education. Requirements Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders from an accredited institution. Valid state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist or eligibility for licensure. Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred. Experience working with children in a school setting is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents, and staff. Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and track student progress. Knowledge of current best practices and interventions in speech and language therapy.
