Oak Creek Academy is an inclusion-based private school serving students with a wide range of learning profiles and abilities. We are looking for someone who understands that reading intervention is not one-size-fits-all and who can meet students where they are while providing structured, evidence-based instruction that helps them make meaningful progress. Position Details Part-Time Monday-Thursday/Friday Approximately 2-3 hours per day Daytime hours with some flexibility in scheduling

As soon as possible Small-group instruction On-site position at Oak Creek Academy in Killeen, Texas Primary Responsibilities The Reading Specialist will: Provide targeted, small-group reading intervention based on individual student needs. Deliver structured literacy instruction using evidence-based practices. Support students with dyslexia and other reading-related learning differences. Assess students to identify strengths, skill deficits, and appropriate instructional starting points. Conduct ongoing progress monitoring and use student data to guide instruction. Maintain clear documentation of student goals and progress. Collaborate with classroom teachers and administration to establish and communicate reading goals. Share strategies and recommendations that classroom teachers can use to reinforce skills throughout the school day. Adjust instruction as needed based on student response and progress. Communicate concerns when students may require additional assessment, intervention, or support. Create a positive instructional environment that builds students' reading skills, confidence, and willingness to take academic risks. Required Qualifications Training in Basic Language Skills (BLS) through Neuhaus Education Center , or equivalent documented structured literacy training. Strong understanding of dyslexia, structured literacy, phonological awareness, phonics, decoding, fluency, spelling, and reading comprehension. Experience providing reading intervention to children or adolescents. Ability to interpret assessment and progress-monitoring data and use it to guide instruction. Ability to successfully complete all required background checks and employment screenings. Must not be listed on the Texas Education Agency Do Not Hire Registry . Preferred Qualifications Certified Academic Language Practitioner (CALP) or Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) credential. Experience working with students with dyslexia, ADHD, autism, or other learning differences. Experience in a private school, special education, intervention, or inclusion-based educational setting. Familiarity with administering and interpreting reading assessments and progress-monitoring measures. Compensation Pay:
