Job Description
St. Thomas Aquinas High School, a co-educational, college-preparatory Catholic high school in Edison, New Jersey, is seeking a Biology /Science Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The institution seeks a passionate educator dedicated to fostering a dynamic learning environment and inspiring students' scientific curiosity and critical thinking skills. Key Responsibilities Teach various biology courses to high school students, aligning with a college preparatory curriculum. Develop engaging lesson plans and create a classroom environment that promotes active learning, scientific inquiry, and a deep understanding of biological concepts. Assess student progress effectively and provide constructive feedback. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the science curriculum and contribute to the academic life of the school. Participate in school activities and contribute to the positive school community. Qualifications A bachelor's degree in Biology or a related scientific field is required. High school teaching experience is preferred. Strong understanding of biological principles and current scientific advancements. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and classroom management skills. A commitment to the mission and values of a Catholic educational institution. Salary Range $41,000-$44,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Background Check & Compliance Requirements All candidates must meet diocesan and state requirements for working in a Catholic school, including: Successful completion of a criminal background check Completion of Virtus/Protecting God's Children training Submission of required employment and compliance documents, including I-9 forms, transcripts, and references Adherence to all school safety policies and guidelines Additional Information This is an in-person position at St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Edison, New Jersey.
