Overview Join our dynamic educational team as a Career and Technical Education (CTE) Computer Science Teacher, where you'll inspire high school students to explore the exciting world of technology and computing. You will deliver engaging lessons that integrate cutting-edge learning technologies, develop comprehensive curricula aligned with educational standards, and cultivate a classroom atmosphere that promotes curiosity and collaboration. Your passion for teaching science and mathematics will empower students to excel academically while preparing them for college, careers, and lifelong learning in the digital age. Duties Design and implement innovative computer science curricula that incorporate current industry practices, programming languages, and software development principles. Deliver engaging lessons on core topics such as algorithms, data structures, coding languages, cybersecurity, and software engineering. Integrate educational technology tools to enhance student learning experiences and facilitate differentiated instruction tailored to diverse learning styles. Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations, providing constructive feedback to support continuous improvement. Manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering an inclusive environment that respects cultural diversity and promotes positive interactions among students. Collaborate with fellow teachers on interdisciplinary projects, curriculum development, and school-wide initiatives to enrich the educational experience. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance metrics in compliance with educational regulations. Support students' extracurricular engagement in coding clubs, robotics teams, or science fairs to nurture their passion for STEM fields. Participate in professional development opportunities focused on instructional design, research-based teaching strategies, and the integration of new learning technologies. Mentor students through academic advising sessions and provide guidance on higher education pathways or career planning in technology sectors. Experience Proven teaching experience at the high school level with a strong background in computer science or related STEM disciplines. Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development across subjects such as mathematics (including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus), biology (cell biology, genetics, microbiology), chemistry (organic chemistry), and physics (differential equations). Extensive laboratory experience including dissection techniques, research laboratory procedures, and scientific experimentation. Familiarity with integrating IT solutions into classroom instruction and implementing standards-aligned curriculum implementation strategies. Experience working with students from diverse cultural backgrounds and adapting teaching methods to accommodate various learning styles. Strong classroom management skills combined with effective communication abilities suited for engaging teenagers in scientific research and inquiry-based learning. Knowledge of standardized testing procedures, educational compliance requirements, special education considerations, and Montessori or other specialized pedagogies is advantageous. Ability to collaborate with colleagues on lesson planning, instructional design projects, teacher mentoring programs, and educational research initiatives. Prior experience working within private school environments or educational administration roles enhances your fit for this position. $60,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
