Job Description

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Position Reports to
Program Director Positions Supervised:
None
POSITION PURPOSE
Responsible for carrying out laboratory instructional activities, coaching/mentoring students, and implementing formative and summative evaluation measures during their intensive learning weeks.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Laboratory Delivery Gives interactive laboratory experiences, models psychomotor and/or high-demand interpersonal skills, and uses traditional and emerging practice-related equipment, supplies, and materials to teach and reinforce instructional content. Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students provide clarity and improve student learning. Sets clear expectations for laboratory activities during the intensive learning weeks and onsite assignment/examination dates. Ensures that the laboratory content and level of material, including formative and summative evaluation, correspond to the course terminal objectives. Regularly assesses instructional effectiveness (during lab experiences) and student learning. Demonstrates consistency and fairness in preparing and grading formative and summative assessments and provides timely feedback to students. Has analytical and problem-solving skills, great attention to detail, and uses best practices in teaching. Provide excellent instruction involving active learning to all students pursuing. Makes necessary accommodations for students with special needs. Reviews course materials and course design. Provide effective academic advising and mentoring to students. Refers students for instructional or university assistance as necessary. Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be a licensed occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant in the state of Utah Must be able to attend some of the on-campus labs during the weeks 6 and 12 (Winter and Fall Semesters) and weeks 6 and 14 (Summer Semester).
