The Birthday Party Lead is responsible for overseeing the party from start to finish, welcoming families, supervising children in the gym, leading activities when desired, and keeping the party running smoothly and safely. Responsibilities Greet the birthday family and guests and help everyone feel welcome. Take the lead in organizing and running the birthday party. Supervise children during open gym and free-play activities. Monitor areas such as the spring floor, obstacle courses, trampolines, foam pit, bars, and other gymnastics equipment. Encourage safe play while keeping the atmosphere upbeat and fun. Ask the birthday child if they would like to play any favorite games and lead games or group activities when requested. Give simple instructions and demonstrations when needed. Keep the party moving according to the scheduled timeline. Assist families with transitioning from gym time to the party/food portion of the event. Help with basic party setup and cleanup. Work with additional party staff to make sure all areas are appropriately supervised. Communicate professionally and positively with parents and children. Follow all Cal-Star Gymnastics safety procedures and facility rules. What We're Looking For The ideal Birthday Party Lead is: Friendly, enthusiastic, and comfortable interacting with children. Confident taking charge of a group while still making the experience relaxed and fun. Dependable and punctual. Comfortable speaking with parents and providing excellent customer service. Able to maintain control of a busy environment without taking the fun out of the party. Able to work well with other coaches and party staff. Available primarily on weekends . Gymnastics, coaching, teaching, camp, recreation, or childcare experience is a plus. The Goal of the Position Our birthday parties are designed to give children plenty of time to play, explore, and have fun in the gym rather than having every minute structured. The Birthday Party Lead's job is to provide the right balance of fun, freedom, organization, and safety while making the experience easy and enjoyable for the birthday family. The most important part of this position is making sure every birthday child feels special and every family leaves feeling that their party was well organized, welcoming, and fun. We do offer training from start to finish, approx. 30 days shadowing with another Birthday Party Lead. Background check upon hiring and CPR & First Aid completed within 30 days of starting. All will be reimbursed or paid. All staff shirts are supplied. Additional week-day shifts after 2PM will be offered once weekend shifts are covered and training & hiring completed.
