Have Fun. Make a Difference. At British Swim School, we teach water-safety and swimming skills that can save lives. We're looking for an energetic, caring, and dependable Deck Ambassador with professional experience working with children. This is an active, hands-on role on the pool deck. You'll interact with children and parents, support our instructors, and help keep lessons safe, organized, and running smoothly. Compensation $18/hour during training, increasing to $20/hour after successful completion of training. What You'll Do Welcome and engage with children and families Communicate with parents about lessons, progress, and accomplishments Assist with student check-in, attendance, and class transitions Support children who may be nervous or adjusting to lessons Help new families understand our program Monitor the pool deck and reinforce safety rules Help ensure children remain with their parent or guardian when required Reinforce swim-cap and other program requirements Help ensure classes start and end on time Maintain clean and organized all the areas. Assist with pool setup and cleanup if needed. Identify parent concerns and communicate them to management Participate in ongoing training and cross-training Support management efforts in special activities, Safety Week, Halloween ETC Required Qualifications Minimum 6 months of professional experience working directly with children. Relevant experience includes teaching, preschool/daycare, swim instruction, youth sports coaching, camps, after-school programs, gymnastics, dance, martial arts, or other child-focused programs. We're looking for someone who is: Warm, energetic, and confident with children and parents Reliable, punctual, and accountable Observant, organized, and proactive Professional and calm when handling concerns Comfortable taking initiative in a busy environment Schedule Part-time, established shifts: Tuesday and Thursday evenings Saturday and Sunday mornings Weekend flexibility: One weekend off per month can be accommodated with advance notice. Reliable availability for your agreed-upon shifts is required.
