As a Teacher for the Visually Impaired, your expertise will help empower students to reach their full academic and personal potential.
Qualifications:
Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) or eligibility to obtain Experience working with students who are blind or visually impaired, ideally in a K-12 environment Strong knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and accessible instructional materials Excellent communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Commitment to creating a supportive and adaptable learning atmosphere
Responsibilities:
Provide direct instructional services to students with visual impairments in individual or small group settings Develop and adapt curriculum materials to be accessible and engaging for all learners Collaborate with classroom teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure cohesive support Assess student progress and modify teaching strategies as needed Advocate for necessary accommodations, modifications, and technologies to enhance student learning Maintain accurate records as required by state and federal guidelines
