60+ college credits required Valid and Current Michigan Teacher Certificate preferred Previous teacher or guest teaching experience preferred

Primary Job Responsibilities :

Outstanding communication skills•verbal and written A strong commitment to educating students with disabilities in the least restrictive environment, as demonstrated by experience with co-teaching or other collaborative delivery models Demonstrate ability to implement research-based instructional strategies for math, reading and writing to address academic and developmental needs of students Demonstrate knowledge and skill in a variety of flexible positive behavior support intervention strategies Proficiency integrating technology into instruction as a tool for student learning Knowledge and ability to implement data collection techniques for monitoring student growth Understanding of universal supports, accommodations and modifications to general education curriculum Demonstrate ability to independently and accurately implement the requirements of IDEA and Michigan's Special Education Rules on behalf of caseload students

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand and walk over extended periods of time in a work day Ability to sit for extended periods of time in a work day, and to sit/stand several times in short periods of time
