This position focuses on a TK/K/1st grade caseload with a maximum of 12 students and the support of three dedicated paraprofessionals in the classroom. The contract runs from August 13, 2026, through June 4, 2027, offering you the opportunity to make a significant impact throughout the full academic year.
Key Qualifications:
Current and active California Moderate/Severe Special Education Teaching Credential (Mod/Severe) is required Experience working with early elementary students in a special education setting preferred Strong classroom management and communication skills Demonstrated ability to collaborate with classroom staff and related service providers Ability to create and adapt Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to meet student needs
Responsibilities:
Instruct and support students with moderate to severe disabilities, tailoring curriculum and strategies to promote growth Develop individualized lesson plans and implement accommodations to maximize student learning and participation Oversee and collaborate with three paraprofessionals within the classroom Document student progress and participate in IEP meetings, working closely with families and multidisciplinary teams Maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment
