Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid teaching certification with an endorsement in Visual Impairments or equivalent credentials Previous experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired or similar role preferred Strong knowledge of Braille, assistive technologies, and adaptive instructional strategies Excellent communication and collaboration skills Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct instruction to students with visual impairments, adapting materials to fit individual learning needs Collaborate closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families to facilitate optimal student progress Assess and monitor student growth, making timely adjustments to teaching plans as needed Provide guidance on the use of adaptive technology and mobility strategies to ensure student independence Serve as an advocate for visually impaired students within the school community, promoting accessibility and inclusion Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings Take advantage of an opportunity to make a real impact while working alongside a team dedicated to student success.
