This contract opportunity focuses on delivering individualized instruction using structured literacy methods, serving a vibrant school community near Oxford, CT. You'll be instrumental in guiding students toward academic progress and personal growth.
Qualifications:
Valid Special Education Teacher certification Current certification in Wilson or Orton-Gillingham methodologies (required) Previous experience with middle school students preferred Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams Flexibility, problem-solving skills, and a passion for student success
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement specialized instruction using Wilson or Orton-Gillingham approaches tailored to students' learning needs Develop and adapt IEPs in partnership with families and support staff Monitor and assess student academic and social-emotional progress Manage classroom routines to encourage positive behaviors and a supportive learning environment Collaborate with general education teachers, support personnel, and administration to facilitate inclusive practices Maintain accurate records and consistent communication with families regarding student growth This role offers the opportunity to earn $45-55 per hour, providing rewarding compensation for your expertise and commitment.
