An excellent contract opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher with a passion for inspiring 5th and 6th grade students in an inclusion math environment. This position fills a temporary maternity leave, making a meaningful impact from August 13th through December 1st. Located just outside Washington, DC, this role gives you the chance to work collaboratively and make a lasting difference. Your role centers on supporting students through the pull-in method, offering targeted 1:1 math instruction within inclusive classroom settings. Youll be instrumental in ensuring each student receives the individualized support they need to succeed, while collaborating with general education teachers and participating in planning and progress monitoring.

Qualifications and experience sought:

Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher Experience teaching math at the elementary or middle school level preferred Ability to deliver targeted 1:1 instruction and adapt lessons for diverse learners Familiarity with the inclusion model and collaborative teaching practices Strong communication and organizational skills Responsibilities include: Providing individualized math instruction using the pull-in model for identified 5th and 6th grade students Partnering with classroom teachers to ensure IEP goals are met within the general education setting Documenting student progress and participating in meetings as needed Creating a supportive and encouraging classroom atmosphere Utilizing evidence-based strategies to foster understanding and engagement in mathematics This contract assignment offers the chance to make a significant impact in a supportive, inclusive school environment, enriching your experience and skill set.
