Job Description

Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact by helping students with visual impairments access their education in an inclusive setting. This contract-based opportunity, located near Dade City, FL, is ideally suited for an experienced and dedicated teacher specializing in visual impairment. With a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week, you will work closely with PreK-12th grade students, ensuring each child receives the support they need to thrive academically and socially. The assignment runs from ASAP through May 2027, providing both stability and the chance to truly shape young learners' journeys.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) Experience working with PreK-12th grade students in educational settings Familiarity with adaptive technologies, Braille instruction, and mobility training Strong communication skills for collaborating with families, educators, and support staff Passion for fostering independence and confidence in students with visual impairments
Responsibilities and Duties:
Design, adapt, and deliver individualized lesson plans aligned with each student's IEP or 504 plan Provide direct instruction in Braille, use of assistive devices, and strategies for accessing curriculum Collaborate with general education teachers to create inclusive classroom environments Conduct assessments and maintain thorough documentation on student progress Lead and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to support student outcomes Offer consultation and support to staff and families regarding visual impairment best practices Step into a rewarding position where your expertise changes lives every day.
