Academic Interventionist (ESE Teacher)

Job Description

Daytona Beach, FL | $50,000-$53,000/year + Quarterly Bonus Opportunities Full-Time | Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-3:30 PM | Year-Round Groups of only 2 learners 90 minutes of dedicated planning time every day 1:1 RBT with each learner Onsite BCBA support Comprehensive benefits Love teaching—but wish you had the time and support to truly individualize it? Behavioral Foundation Centers is looking for an energetic, creative, and skilled Academic Interventionist to join our Daytona Beach team and provide individualized academic instruction to children with autism. This is not a scripted tutoring role . We are looking for a teacher who knows how to determine what a learner needs next, identify missing prerequisite skills, differentiate instruction, and create engaging lessons that meet children at their actual instructional level. If the part of teaching you love most is figuring out how a child learns and watching the right instruction finally make a skill click, we want to meet you. Why This Teaching Role Is Different Our educational model is intentionally designed to allow teachers to teach well . Only 2 learners at a time Consistent student pairings — the same two learners attend together Monday through Friday Structured one-hour instructional sessions 90 minutes of dedicated planning and preparation time every day 30-minute lunch Each learner has their own 1:1 Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) present during instruction An onsite Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is readily available for behavioral consultation, problem-solving, and collaboration No evenings or weekends Stable, year-round employment Each learner's RBT implements their individualized ABA treatment plan and supports the skills needed to successfully participate in educational activities. The BCBA provides clinical guidance and behavioral expertise when barriers to learning arise. Your role is to plan, individualize, engage, and teach. What You'll Do Develop and deliver engaging academic instruction for consistent groups of two learners Use the Florida B.E.S.T. Standards to guide educational programming Determine each learner's current instructional level and identify prerequisite skill gaps Individualize the same instructional content for learners with different skill levels Teach foundational literacy, reading, writing, mathematics, and school-readiness skills Create hands-on, visual, interactive, and developmentally appropriate learning experiences Monitor learner performance and use progress to guide instructional decisions Use dedicated planning time to develop lesson plans, prepare materials, and review learner progress Collaborate with BCBAs and RBTs as part of an interdisciplinary team Many of our learners have significant developmental and educational support needs and are currently working within the early-learning, Pre-K, and Kindergarten academic range . The Educator We're Looking For We aren't simply looking for someone who is comfortable working with children with special needs. We are looking for an educator who: Genuinely loves children and brings energy, warmth, and enthusiasm to teaching Knows how to make learning fun, active, and engaging Understands true individualized and differentiated instruction Can recognize when prerequisite skills are missing and systematically build from them Is creative and flexible when a teaching strategy isn't working Takes ownership of lesson planning and learner progress Enjoys collaboration and thrives on a fast-paced, high-energy team Values feedback and interdisciplinary problem-solving Wants to become an established member of our team and build relationships with learners over time Is looking for a long-term, year-round career—not simply a position for one school year
