Full Job Description Teacher Job Description:
This job posting presents a unique opportunity for talented, passionate educators to join the growing Zucker Jewish Academy network and have a significant impact on the growth of our school. The ideal candidate for this position would be an energetic and capable teacher who is excited about elementary school education. The teacher will demonstrate the ability to teach a variety of different types of learners, a willingness to collaborate with a community of educators, and the ability to make a strong contribution to a growing school system. Key responsibilities, skills and competencies:
  • Strong knowledge of instructional principles and practices
  • Understanding of child development
  • Strong interest in teaching elementary school grades
  • Warm, engaging personality, love of children
  • Role model for elementary students, with the ability to build strong bonds with students
  • Ability to develop self-motivated learners and cultivate students' talents
  • Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with the school's curriculum and educational standards.
  • Create classroom routines and procedures to ensure safe and orderly instruction, following the school's Positive Behavioral Policies
  • Maintain the classroom's cleanliness and orderliness on a daily basis, and help students with organization and executive functioning
  • Be responsible for the good condition and adequate supply for materials and resources for the classroom
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student engagement and learning
  • Utilize a variety of differentiated instructional techniques and teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and support to help students achieve their academic goals
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and the school administration to support student development and address any concerns
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance, attendance, and other relevant information
  • Use data to drive instructional goals and provide students with individual support
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in education
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement school-wide initiatives and events
  • Uphold the school's policies, procedures, and values in all interactions with students, parents, and staff
  • Ensure student safety.
  • Guide and support assistant teachers and aides, if applicable
  • Update the bulletin boards monthly to reflect student learning
  • Set up the classroom in the beginning of the year and pack up the classroom at the end of the year Education and experience:
  • Undergraduate or Seminary degree required, Master's degree preferred
  • 2-3 years of experience teaching in a Jewish day school, or other comparable experience preferred, not required
Pay:
$57,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
