This contract role is ideal for an experienced Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) who is passionate about making a meaningful impact and adept at teaching Braille. Youll be responsible for delivering service minutes and direct instructional support over several campuses within a supportive school district environment.

Qualifications & Experience:

Valid Florida Department of Education certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired Demonstrated proficiency in teaching Braille to school-aged students Previous experience working in K-12 settings, preferably as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired Flexibility and organizational skills to effectively work across multiple school sites (schools assigned TBD) Willingness to complete school district fingerprinting (may use existing prints on file with AHCA Clearinghouse) Strong communication and consultative skills

Responsibilities:

Provide direct instruction to a caseload of 12 students (receiving 690 service minutes weekly), with 2 additional consults Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each students needs Collaborate with general and special education staff to promote accessibility and adapt curriculum materials as necessary Travel among up to 5 school sites as required to support student learning and success Maintain accurate and timely service logs and progress reports Serve as a resource for staff and families regarding strategies, materials, and supports for visually impaired students This full-time role (35 hours/week) runs from early October through early June, offering a unique opportunity to build strong connections with students and staff over the school year.
