Desired Qualifications and Experience:
Current certification and credentials as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) Experience working in school-based settings with students who have visual impairments Skilled in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Ability to design age-appropriate and accessible instructional materials Strong communication and collaboration skills with educators, families, and specialists Flexibility and creativity in problem-solving and adapting to varying student needs
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments, individually and in groups Assess students' functional vision and learning needs Consult with teachers on classroom accommodations and modifications Support the use of assistive technology and orientation & mobility techniques Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to IEP development and implementation Liaise with families to offer resources and support This contract role offers the opportunity for personal and professional growth while making a significant difference for students in the Hogansville area.
