SUMMARY:
Teachers are responsible for assisting and supporting families enrolled in the HSAP program. . Teachers assist the families with curriculum and lesson plans. They track the progress of assigned students and create monthly progress reports. Teachers are responsible for maintaining a safe and respectful environment in order to optimize student/family support with the homeschooling process.
EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university Teaching credential/certificate/license for corresponding age/grade level issued by the BOEE TECHNICAL
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
Highly developed oral and written communication skills. Ability to build relationships effectively and professionally with families and students. Experience developing and explaining various curriculums. Physical ability to handle frequent sitting, stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, and moving throughout the room. Proven ability to maintain a safe and inviting environment. Demonstrated ability to develop and explain age-appropriate curriculum. Ability to collaborate within the school and instructional setting. Demonstrated desire to be a life-long learner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Listed below are the essential tasks required for this job. Job Tasks Descriptions 1. Be familiar with instructional resources for use by families. 2. Prepare and plan instructional activities, and assist families with implementation. 3. Create a positive educational environment. 4. Exercise open and respectful communication with families, co-workers, supervisors, and other school staff. 5. Measure/assess progress and accomplishments of students towards their academic achievements on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required. 6. Create and keep records on attendance, accidents, incidents, and other noteworthy events in accordance with licensing guidelines and program policies. 7. Attend workshops and training, in district and within the state, in order to further advance professional development. 8. Stay abreast with learning strategies and current opportunities for students. 9. Utilize curriculum to incorporate diverse intellectual, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served. 10. Manage student behavior in accordance with outlined guidelines. 11. Work collaboratively with grade level, subject area, and building teachers to enhance learning opportunities for students. 12. Collaborate with teacher team to contribute to the professional learning and development of themselves and their fellow colleagues 13. Provide a safe, thriving, and respectful environment for all students in the classroom and on the school campus 14. Perform other duties as assigned.
