Job Description

Step into a meaningful opportunity as a Special Education Teacher supporting a K-2 Self Contained Life Skills class for a maternity leave coverage from November through March. This contract position offers a chance to make a lasting difference in the lives of young learners, guiding them through critical developmental milestones in a supportive environment.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Special Education teaching credentials Experience working in elementary self-contained settings, preferably with life skills curriculum Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and ability to implement modifications and accommodations Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Ability to nurture positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
Core Responsibilities:
Provide differentiated instruction for K-2 students within a self-contained classroom, focused on life skills development Adapt lesson plans to meet varied learning needs and abilities Collaborate with support staff, related service providers, and families to promote student success Track progress and maintain accurate student records, including IEP goals and behavioral data Create a safe, inclusive environment that encourages social, academic, and functional growth Engage in regular communication with caregivers to support continuity of learning This rewarding assignment runs from November through March, with a weekly schedule of 37.5 hours and a pay rate starting at $45 per hour.
