Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role as a Special Education Teacher working with PreK students on a part-time basis for the 2026-2027 school year. Situated in the Paris, IL area, this contract position is perfect for educators who are passionate about making an impact with early learners in a supportive school environment. The position runs from August 17, 2026, through May 31, 2027, and focuses on a small caseload, allowing for meaningful connections and individualized growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide targeted instruction and support for a caseload of 8-10 PreK students in a resource setting. Utilize both push-in and pull-out service models to best meet each child's needs. Create, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs) aligned with student strengths and areas for growth. Work collaboratively with classroom teachers, families, and support staff to foster an inclusive and productive learning experience. Maintain all documentation in accordance with state and district standards, ensuring compliance and accurate record-keeping.
Desired Qualifications:
Possession of a current Illinois LBS1 (Learning Behavior Specialist 1) License. PreK Endorsement required. Prior experience in early childhood special education is highly valued.
