Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher, supporting students with diverse needs in an engaging, onsite classroom setting. This contract opportunity runs through the end of the 2024-2025 school year and focuses on early childhood and elementary students in intensive skills and autism support classrooms. Qualifications:
Active Kansas Special Education (SPED) teaching license required Demonstrated experience with early childhood and/or elementary-age students in intensive or specialized settings Familiarity with supporting students with autism and a broad range of developmental needs Strong communication and team collaboration abilities Adaptability and a student-centered approach to education
Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality, individualized instruction to students on intensive skills and autism support caseloads Develop and implement effective Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in partnership with families and school staff Use evidence-based strategies to promote academic, social, and behavioral growth Maintain accurate documentation on student progress and compliance with state requirements Engage actively in school team meetings, professional development, and interdisciplinary collaborations Create a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom environment tailored to each student's needs This full-time, onsite contract role provides the opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of students and families, working alongside dedicated school professionals.
