Job Description
ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy & Education seeks a Special Education Teacher to support children and young adults with behavioral, developmental, and learning needs. In this role, you will develop and implement IEPs, provide differentiated instruction, collect and analyze behavioral and academic data, and collaborate closely with therapists, behavior analysts, and families. You will use evidence-based practices, maintain compliance with IDEA and other regulations, and contribute to a compassionate, mission-driven team culture focused on meaningful outcomes for students' academic, social, and life skills. Responsibilities Design and deliver individualized and small-group instruction aligned with IEP goals Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with families and school partners Collect, track, and analyze academic and behavioral data to inform instruction Collaborate with behavior analysts, therapists, and other specialists on intervention plans Implement evidence-based instructional and behavioral strategies Maintain compliance with IDEA, state regulations, and organizational policies Communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and district staff about student progress Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment Participate in team meetings, professional development, and interdisciplinary collaboration Document services, progress notes, and reports accurately and on time Required Skills Individualized Education Program (IEP) development Special education instructional strategies Behavior management and classroom management Data collection and progress monitoring Applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles Differentiated instruction Knowledge of IDEA and special education law Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams Parent and caregiver communication Educational documentation and reporting
