Here's your opportunity to make a difference as an itinerant Special Education Teacher working with early childhood students. This contract role offers full-time hours and the chance to positively impact children's lives across multiple sites in the Hyattsville, MD area. You'll be on the move—travel time between locations counts as hours worked, maximizing your professional day.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Must hold valid MSDE Special Education Teacher certification. Experience supporting early childhood students preferred. Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with families, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams. Ability to adapt quickly and work independently in various school settings. No travel restrictions; comfortable working across multiple locations within a defined area. Commitment to individualized instruction and inclusive environments.
Core Responsibilities:
Provide itinerant special education services to early childhood students, supporting both classroom and individualized learning environments. Consult and collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to ensure appropriate adaptations and instructional strategies. Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in alignment with state and federal regulations. Maintain accurate records of student progress, planning and delivering instruction tailored to diverse learner profiles. Serve as an advocate for young students with disabilities, working closely with families and related service providers. Travel between assigned school locations throughout the workday; travel time is included as part of your work hours. This contract position allows you to work directly with dynamic teams across various school sites, helping shape the educational journey of early learners.
