Step into a meaningful role supporting students' unique learning journeys as a Special Education Teacher. This contract position begins in mid-August and runs through early June, offering full-time hours in a supportive school environment. Opportunities are available at Oakdale Middle School and two additional elementary sites (including a newly added behavior-focused classroom). Oakdale's "Learning for Life" program serves a group of 15 students, while the additional elementary placements focus on self-contained settings for students requiring targeted support.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid Special Education Teacher certification for the appropriate age group Experience working with students in self-contained or specialized learning programs preferred Strong communication and collaboration skills Compassionate, resourceful, and adaptable teaching style Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive learning atmosphere
Core Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs) for each student Create a structured, positive classroom environment tailored to a variety of learning needs Employ evidence-based instructional techniques and behavior management strategies Collaborate regularly with classroom staff, related service providers, and families Track and report student progress, maintaining thorough and confidential records Encourage student self-advocacy, independence, and growth
