Based near Bellevue, MI, you'll step into a dedicated classroom environment, focusing on transformative student engagement and individualized learning.
What You Bring:
Valid and active Michigan Special Education Teacher license (provide a screenshot upon application) Expertise in supporting students with cognitive impairments at the high school level Strong classroom management and communication abilities Adaptability and resourcefulness to address diverse learning needs Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive environment Experience working collaboratively with classroom staff and support teams
What You'll Do:
Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to cognitive impairment needs Deliver daily instruction, adapting curriculum to various learning styles and abilities Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to facilitate holistic student development Conduct assessments, document progress, and maintain open channels of communication with stakeholders Provide positive behavior supports, using evidence-based strategies Cultivate a classroom culture that promotes academic growth, independence, and self-esteem Details to
