Job Description

Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Job Type Contract Make a real difference in students' lives by providing crucial educational support as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing. This contract position offers the unique opportunity to work with children who are deaf or hard of hearing, empowering them to excel academically and communicate effectively. You'll collaborate with dedicated educators and families, crafting individual educational strategies for each learner and fostering a nurturing classroom environment.

Key Qualifications:

Valid teaching credentials with certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education. Strong understanding of instructional techniques and accommodations for students with hearing impairments. Proficiency with American Sign Language (ASL) or other relevant communication methods. Ability to develop and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs). Excellent interpersonal, communication, and advocacy skills.

Responsibilities:

Deliver tailored instruction in a variety of educational settings for deaf or hard of hearing students. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement IEPs. Adapt and create classroom materials to support accessibility and learning success. Support general education teachers in accommodating students' unique needs. Engage families in the educational process and provide resources as needed. Monitor growth, assess progress, and document student achievements.
