9662704-65231 Job Description Step into a rewarding, part-time contract opportunity supporting a 13-year-old student with Autism who is navigating school reluctance. This role is tailored for a compassionate Special Education Teacher eager to provide individualized instruction and encouragement. Located near Auxvasse, MO, the assignment begins as soon as possible with 8 hours per week, and there is potential to increase hours as the student achieves growth and comfort in their school routine.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Special Education Teaching certification Experience working one-on-one with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder Demonstrated ability to foster student engagement, even through school refusal challenges Strong communication and patience to build trust and rapport with students A creative, adaptable approach to individualized instruction Understanding that case management is not a part of this assignment
Core Responsibilities:
Deliver focused, individualized instruction to a single student, supporting both academic and behavioral needs Collaborate closely with school staff and family to support the titration process, gradually increasing the students participation Monitor and document student progress and readiness for increased hours Employ strategies to ease school-related anxiety, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment Adjust lessons and interventions as needed to match student progress and comfort Remain flexible as hours may adjust with the students readiness This is an opportunity to truly make a difference in a young learners journey, providing critical support at a pivotal time.
