Job Description

East Buchanan School District is seeking a dedicated Middle School and a High School Resource Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. These positions focus on supporting students with disabilities in grades 6-8 and 9-12 through individualized instruction, academic intervention, and collaboration with general education teachers to ensure student success.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Developing and implementing IEPs that support student growth and independence
  • Providing specialized instruction in reading, writing, math, organization, and study skills
  • Teaching executive functioning skills such as time management, task completion, self-advocacy, and goal setting
  • Supporting students in accessing grade-level curriculum through accommodations and modifications
  • Collaborating with teachers, families, and support staff to create inclusive learning opportunities
  • Monitoring student progress and using data to guide instruction
  • Preparing students for post-secondary success, including college, career, and independent living skills
