Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree (B.A.) from an accredited institution Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired Experience in providing individualized instruction to students, especially in one-on-one settings Strong knowledge of accessible educational materials, adaptive technology, and effective teaching strategies for visually impaired learners Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and encouraging learning atmosphere
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver customized instruction and adapt curriculum to suit the unique needs of visually impaired students in a 1:1 pediatric setting Assess, monitor, and document student progress, identifying appropriate goals and adaptations Consult with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to support student success Modify classroom materials, teaching techniques, and assessment tools according to student requirements Serve as an advocate and resource for students, promoting independence and confidence Maintain thorough records and comply with all state and federal educational regulations
