What You'll Do As an autism-focused caregiver, you may: Provide compassionate, one-on-one support to autistic adults Assist with activities of daily living while encouraging independence Support clients with routines, transitions, and daily activities Provide companionship and meaningful engagement based on each client's interests Encourage communication and self-advocacy in ways that work for the individual Assist with meal preparation, light housekeeping, errands, and community activities Help maintain a safe, calm, and supportive environment Recognize and respect sensory preferences and individual needs Follow each client's personalized care plan and established routines Communicate with families and the care team regarding client needs and progress The Caregiver We're Looking For You may be a great fit if you are: Patient, compassionate, and understanding Comfortable supporting autistic adults with varying abilities and needs Respectful of neurodiversity and individual differences Dependable and consistent A good listener and clear communicator Comfortable following routines while remaining flexible when needs change Passionate about helping people build confidence and independence Willing to learn and participate in ongoing training Experience working with autism, developmental disabilities, special education, behavioral support, direct support, or caregiving a caring attitude and willingness to learn are just as important is required.
