Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact by supporting a small, close-knit group of students as a Special Education Teacher in an educational setting near Manhattan, MT. This contract opportunity focuses on providing individualized instruction and care to medically fragile students, in collaboration with two dedicated paraprofessionals and extensive therapy resources. You'll work with a maximum of four students, with two attending partial days, allowing you to provide targeted attention and adapt your teaching approach for each child's needs. The role may also include in-home instruction for select students, especially if teaching virtually.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Special Education teaching certification relevant to the state of Montana or willingness to obtain Experience working with medically fragile students, or a strong desire to learn and adapt Knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs) and implementation in both in-person and virtual settings Ability to collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and related service providers Strong communication skills for engaging effectively with students, families, and team members Flexibility to provide instruction in a variety of settings, including home-based or remote if needed
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver personalized instruction and create a supportive, safe learning environment for a small group of medically fragile students Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs tailored to each student's abilities and needs Coordinate daily with paraprofessionals and therapy teams to ensure comprehensive care Adapt lessons for students with varying attendance schedules and participate in in-home teaching as required Maintain thorough documentation of educational progress and collaborate on student care plans This is the chance to shape a transformative educational experience for students who benefit from attentive and compassionate instruction.
