Job Description
Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students' growth as a Special Education Teacher in an engaging school environment near Danbury, NC. This full-time contract position offers fulfilling work with Elementary EC resource students, focusing on both pull-out and inclusion models, with a commitment from early August through late May. You'll join a collaborative setting, working alongside another experienced EC teacher to manage caseloads of 20-25 students each—all on the general curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as case manager for students receiving EC resource support. Schedule, lead, and document IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings. Write comprehensive IEPs tailored to each student's needs. Deliver IEP service time for reading, math, and behavior as identified. Progress monitor and report on students' IEP goals. Foster supportive collaborations with classroom teachers and families. Share responsibilities and collaborate closely with a co-EC teacher on campus.
Qualifications and Experience:
Active Special Education teaching licensure or eligibility to obtain in North Carolina. Previous experience with EC resource or inclusion programs preferred. Proficient in creating, managing, and monitoring IEPs for students on the general curriculum. Strong organizational skills to effectively manage caseload, scheduling, and documentation. Position:
Full-time schedule at approximately 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday (roughly 7:00 am - 2:30 pm). Supportive environment with another EC teacher and collaborative staff.
