Job Description

ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education is seeking a Special Education Teacher to support children and young adults with behavioral and learning challenges. In this role, you will design and implement IEP-driven instruction, adapt curriculum, and use evidence-based strategies to improve academic, social, and life outcomes. Collaborating with behavior analysts, therapists, families, and school teams, you will collect and analyze student data, manage classroom behavior, and create inclusive, trauma informed learning environments. Responsibilities Design and deliver individualized instruction aligned with IEP goals Adapt curriculum and materials for diverse learning and behavioral needs Implement evidence-based instructional and behavioral interventions Collect, track, and analyze student progress data Collaborate with behavior analysts, therapists, and school teams Engage and communicate regularly with families and caregivers Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, trauma-informed classroom environment Manage classroom behavior using positive behavior supports Participate in IEP meetings and prepare required documentation Engage in ongoing professional development and team collaboration Required Skills Special education instruction Individualized Education Program (IEP) implementation Classroom and behavior management Curriculum adaptation and differentiation Data collection and progress monitoring Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) fundamentals Trauma-informed and inclusive practices Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams Parent and caregiver communication Education documentation and reporting
