Job Description

ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education seeks a Special Education Teacher to support children and young adults with behavioral and learning challenges. In this role, you will develop and deliver IEP-aligned instruction, adapt curriculum, and use evidence-based strategies to build academic, social, and life skills. You will collect and analyze student data, collaborate closely with therapists, behavior analysts, and families, and contribute to a compassionate, mission-driven team. Responsibilities Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs Deliver differentiated instruction using evidence-based teaching strategies Adapt curriculum and materials to meet diverse learning, behavioral, and communication needs Collect, track, and analyze student data to monitor progress and adjust instruction Collaborate with therapists, behavior analysts, and related service providers on student goals Communicate regularly with families and school partners regarding student progress Create a structured, positive classroom environment that supports behavior and social-emotional growth Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, trainings, and professional development Ensure compliance with special education regulations and documentation requirements Contribute to a mission-driven, inclusive culture focused on student success Required Skills Special education instruction IEP development and implementation Behavior management and de-escalation Differentiated instruction Data collection and progress monitoring Applied behavior strategies Curriculum adaptation Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams Parent and caregiver communication Special education compliance and documentation
