Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Discover rewarding opportunities as a Special Education Teacher supporting elementary and middle school students in friendly, close-knit school communities in the Amherst, NH area. We're seeking passionate educators interested in making a meaningful impact through specialized instruction and collaborative support. Available positions include flexible contract roles with varied caseloads and schedules. You'll engage with dedicated teams to deliver personalized, small-group or one-on-one instruction, helping students to succeed both academically and personally.
Key Role Highlights:
Deliver direct instruction in reading and math to students in grades K-8 (some opportunities may involve a 9th-grade student). Manage assigned student caseloads, ranging from very small groups (7-8 students) to moderate-sized groups. Work in environments supporting students with Specific Learning Disabilities, developmental delays, and those who may be collaborating with Speech-Language Pathologists. Minimal disruptive or extreme behaviors; focus will remain on academic growth and skill-building. Collaborate closely with 1:1 paraprofessionals in some positions, offering rich support for each learner. Plan instructional activities, adapt curriculum materials, track student progress, and contribute to IEP meetings. Communicate effectively with fellow educators, families, and related service providers in a team-oriented setting. Ideal Experience and Qualifications:
Valid Special Education Certification. Prior experience teaching at the elementary and/or middle school level preferred.
