Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Exciting opportunity for a dedicated special education professional to guide high school learners in a Life Skills classroom for the full 2026-2027 academic year. Make a real difference by preparing students for independent, empowered futures and provide essential support in life and community-based skills.

Responsibilities:

Deliver specialized instruction focusing on functional academics, daily living skills, personal independence, and community involvement for high school students. Manage the specialized classroom environment, providing clear direction for paraprofessionals supporting the program. Develop, implement, and maintain Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) with strong attention to functional goals and post-secondary transition planning. Foster a supportive, structured environment that promotes growth, engagement, and skill development for students with significant needs.

Qualifications:

Active State Special Education Teaching License required. Demonstrated experience managing a high school Life Skills or similar self-contained special education program. Strong background in transition planning for high school-aged students and adaptive care practices. Effective communication, organization, and team leadership abilities.
