Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a meaningful role supporting students on their educational journeys for the 2026-2027 school year. A part-time special education professional is sought to deliver impactful instruction to middle and high school learners. This contract opportunity spans from September 2026 through June 2027, with a flexible 25-hour workweek distributed Monday through Friday. Both in-person and remote candidates will be considered, ensuring the best fit for the needs of these students.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
Certified as a Special Education Teacher with demonstrated expertise in special education settings Proficient in delivering evidence-based reading instruction, including the Wilson Reading System Previous experience working with middle and high school students, ideally across diverse instructional environments Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and staff Adaptable and dependable, with a commitment to providing high-quality educational support
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 5 hours per week of Wilson Reading instruction to a middle school student, focusing on literacy development and intervention Deliver up to 20 additional hours per week of specialized instruction to high school, charter school, and Montessori learners Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to adapt lessons, monitor progress, and address student needs Maintain accurate documentation of instructional activities, student progress, and interventions according to school policy Participate in team meetings and contribute to individualized education plans (IEPs) as required This position offers the rewarding chance to make a direct impact in the classroom, with the added flexibility of considering remote work arrangements if needed.
