Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a pivotal role guiding high school students toward greater independence and confidence in a Life Skills program for the 2026-2027 school year. This contract opportunity offers experienced educators a meaningful chance to truly impact students' daily lives and their future beyond graduation. In this specialized classroom setting, your expertise will shape a curriculum focused on functional academics, daily living skills, personal independence, and active involvement in the community. You will be responsible for leading instruction, fostering a supportive learning environment, and directing a dedicated team of paraprofessionals. As the classroom lead, you'll also ensure each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals are met, while planning for their post-secondary transitions and building practical skill sets for life beyond high school.

Qualifications & Required Background:

Valid and active State Special Education Teaching License Demonstrated experience running a High School Life Skills classroom or leading a self-contained program Solid background in transition planning and adaptive care for high school-aged students Expertise in developing, implementing, and maintaining IEPs focused on functional and transitional outcomes Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills with both staff and families
