Job Description

Ready to make a difference as a Special Education Teacher? Here's an exciting full-time contract opportunity working with a vibrant elementary-aged student population near Ohkay Owingeh, NM. In this rewarding role, you'll provide a mix of pull-out and inclusion support for 16 students across grades K-6 (ages 5-12). You'll join a proactive team that values professional growth and positive outcomes for every student. The district is known for its supportive approach and has a history of contract renewals, so your commitment is genuinely appreciated.

What We're Looking For:

Valid New Mexico Special Education teaching license required Experience or strong interest in both pull-out and inclusion models Comfortable working with elementary-aged children (K-6) Proficient in developing and implementing IEPs (training available for the district's system) Collaborative spirit and strong communication skills—working closely with classroom teachers and support staff Previous experience with diverse student needs preferred

Your Role:

Deliver individualized and small-group instruction to students with special needs Collaborate with general education teachers to integrate students into the classroom community Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals and strategies Maintain accurate and timely student records Participate in paid team meetings and receive indirect hours for administrative work Travel between designated school sites as needed (paid travel) Foster a supportive, inclusive environment for your students
