The ideal candidate brings patience, structure, warmth, and enthusiasm to the classroom each day. Preferred Qualifications Master's Degree in Early Childhood Special Education or a related field New York State Certification in Students with Disabilities, Birth-Grade 2 or All Grades Experience working in early childhood and/or with children with special needs Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to create playful, engaging, and supportive learning experiences A collaborative mindset and a genuine passion for working with young children What You'll Do As a Preschool Special Education Teacher at ACDS Pelham, you will: Provide individualized and small-group instruction using developmentally appropriate teaching strategies Create lesson plans that support each child's IEP goals, learning style, and developmental needs Build a warm, structured, and engaging classroom environment Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, therapists, related service providers, administrators, and families Monitor, document, and report student progress in a timely and thoughtful manner Participate in CPSE meetings and support the development and implementation of IEPs Partner with families and school districts to help each student make meaningful progress Join a Team Where Your Work Matters At ACDS Pelham, our teachers make a lasting impact on children and families.
