Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Seeking a dedicated educator who is passionate about special education to work full-time in a K-1 Autism classroom for an AU or MD special education program. This contract position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young learners near Brunswick, OH. The role follows a Monday through Friday schedule, 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, within a structured and supportive school environment.

Key Qualifications:

Valid Special Education Teacher certification Experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Multiple Disabilities (MD), and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies preferred Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) Compassionate, patient, and skilled at building rapport with students, families, and colleagues Proficient in data collection, progress monitoring, and differentiated instruction Strong classroom management skills tailored to diverse needs Effective communication and collaboration with paraprofessionals and related service staff

Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction to K-1 students in an Autism (AU) or Multiple Disabilities (MD) classroom Create and adapt lesson plans to address the unique learning styles and needs of each student Implement evidence-based interventions and positive behavioral supports Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and IEP goals Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to maximize student potential Engage with families to promote carryover of skills and positive relationships This position offers a regular weekday schedule, a rewarding school setting, and the chance to be a vital part of a caring educational community.
